Grown in the central region of Europe, European Oak grows slowly, produing a uniform colour and straight grain. Greyish-brown to yellowish-brown in colour, the character of European Oak is heavily influenced by the conditions it grows in.
Medium to coarse in texture, the working properties of European Oak can vary from fairly easy to moderately difficult depending on growth conditions.
Takes glue, nails and screws well, except near to edges, when the timber should be pre-bored. Open to a wide range of finishes (staining, waxing, polishing, smoking, fuming, liming), European Oak can be finished to an exceptionally high standard, drastically enhancing the true beauty of this wood.

Looks like quality Reviewed by Barrynicholson on 03 Oct 2017
I haven't used the timber yet but I can't fault the packing! Looks like it is well dimensioned to my requirements and I'm fully expecting that it will do the job.
Well Packed Reviewed by Gary.barnes on 28 Jul 2017
My main concern before ordering was how well the items would be packed to ensure there was no damage to the ends. I was amazed at how well everything was packaged with protection on every surface, edge and corner.
Just The Job Reviewed by Lilpanda on 31 Oct 2016
The two long pieces of planed oak have been used as floor sills to two large windows. I am more than pleased with the quality of the wood and the accuracy of the measurements. I will have no hesitation in using Woodshopdirect in the future and will be recommending them to others.

Great communication and accuracy Reviewed by Anonymous on 09 Jul 2015
I ordered multiple dimensions of timber. Accuracy was absolutely spot on. Communication was excellent, definitely will be using again. Only let down was that a few lengths contained a low volume of woodworm bore holes and one had a split end (Think from transportation?) - given great performance from every other perspective this was acceptable.
