Plate spinning rack (3) by Sam Veale
I'm a children's entertainer and I built this for a friend and colleague. It's a copy of one I built for myself a few years ago. The legs are mild steel and the poles are fibreglass.

Much better top!
The top shelf that came with the radiator cover was awful. So nicely replaced with some lovely oak.
Everything done (minus the door-knobs)!
In it's final configuration and finish, just before the ceramic door-knobs arrived. Overall I was really happy with what Woodshopdirect supplied, the quality of the wood was great, and the cuts really accurate and straight
From the whole project the only complaint I had was with the veneer edging strip, which is really difficult to cut clean. Because it's quite thick real wood it has a tendency to cut following the grain, which can pull it in to the board, or splinter. I recommend buying extra!
Drawers going in
I'd wanted flush-fit push close drawers to fit an extensive collection of CDs, and once again the cuts that Woodshopdirect had completed were perfect. I was chasing in the drawer bottom for added stability, and even though I was cutting within 1 CM of the bottom of the wood the MDF held together very nicely. All those CDs aren't light!!
Decorative changes
While I loved the Oak finish, my interior design consultant insisted that a chalky white finish, with a floral backing would be the only acceptable design choice. Still happy with the look overall!
First fit - before getting the drawers and doors in
I was really happy with all the cuts that Woodshop Direct had made. I had some *very* specific lengths that needed cutting, and in most cases the cut was within 0.5mm of what I'd asked. I really couldn't have asked for more accurate.
First cuts and fitting
I wanted to have but joints, but without any visible screw-heads or filling, so used dowels and cam locks. It wasn't the fastest way of connecting everything up, but managed to leave completely smooth finishes everywhere.
Delivery of the wood
Full check of all the wood on arrival. All the cuts were great, and no damage to any of the pieces, even the really long ones!
