Pale yellowish-brown to mid-brown, often with a reddish tint, typically straight grain with a medium to coarse texture. White Oak is one of the most widely used hardwoods from America and can be seen daily in various public buildings.
Similar to European Oak, the working properties of American Oak can vary from fairly easy to moderately difficult depending on growth conditions. Slightly stronger than European Oak due to it's greater density.
Takes glue, nails and screws well, however pre-boring is recommended. Can be finished to a very high standard with the use of oils, stains, waxes etc. Due it's relatively low moisture content, the timber can be susceptible to movment in variable humidity environments, making it unsuitable for external use.
Name: Quercus alba

That's 20.0 x 20..0 with very little bow. Planing small sections well isn't easy. Woodshed do it so well.
